Sydney.

1. Coogee to Bondi coastal walk
A great walk in good weather - you can pop in for a swim on one of the many beaches a long the way when you get hot and get ice cream and refill your water bottle too if needed too.

2. Surry Hills
A lovely area of town with an artist twist. Had the best Snickers shake ever in one of the loveliest cafes I've ever been to called Four ate Five. Love love love the place!
Almost next to Four ate Five was a very cute little paper shop called Paper2. If you like papery things, this is the place for you - as it was for me too :)

A good quote from the wall of an bookstore + cafe:
"I find television very educating...every time somebody turns on the set, I go in to the other room and read a book.
- Groucho Marx

3. Banana bread
My favorite food item on our trip was definitely banana bread. That bread loaf in the picture was the best banana bread I've ever had. It was bought from a market that was held in the Rocks area for celebrating the Australia day. The bread was made by Fleur de Lys Patisserie. Amazingly soft and sweet and yummy!

4. The Rocks
The Rocks is a quite pricy area of Sydney but it has nice markets held there and you get the amazing views to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera house. And it has a very good visitor information center. I found the Urban Walkabout Guides from there and was in awe of them as they were so pretty and handy and useful. If you go to Sydney - try to get hold of them.

5. Manly
Manly is Sydney’s favourite beachside village. We didn't get around to anywhere else but the center and the main beach as we got stuck watching these huge waves that happened to be hitting the coast at the time we went there. Swimming was prohibited because of the waves and a huge amount of people had gathered to watch them. Very cool experience.

6. Australia day
If you happen to be in Sydney during the Australia day be prepared to let it loose and paint the Australian flag on your cheek. That's what most of the people seem to do on that day ;) People everywhere, happenings, music, fireworks (BIG fireworks) at the Darling Harbour etc. It was amazing to experience it!

7. Sydney Sea Life Aquarium
Superb rainy day activities: Sydney Sea Life Aquarium and the biggest screen in the Darling Harbour IMAX theatre. I'm not a big animal person, but I just loved the aquarium. It was full of amazing little fishies and penguins and weird water animals that I've never even heard of. The sharks very scary and you can see them REALLY close - but safely behind the glass ;)

We spent a week in Sydney while in Australia. We saw a good deal but naturally a lot was left to experience later too. Here's a small summary in pictures and in few words what we did and what I can recommend to do if you ever go to Sydney (from a tourists point of view).
